More than 1 thousand detainees have been held by the CICPC so far in 2025

So far in 2025, the members of the Criminal and Criminal Scientific Investigations Corps (CICPC) have managed to arrest 1,121 people, the seizure of 124 weapons, 1 grenade, 549 ammunition and the recovery of 98 vehicles, 143 motorcycles and 223 cell phones, in the course of carrying out various operations, the director of this detective body reported.

“All these actions reflect the effective actions of the men and women of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (Cicpc), who work with perseverance and discipline in the investigation of crime,” Rico said during the radio program “CICPC al Día”.

In this regard, according to a press release from the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace, he highlighted that these numbers are collated by the Venezuelan Security Observatory (OVS), “the only real observatory that can measure the incidence of crime and, at the same time, contribute to the creation of assertive policies to combat it,” he added.

In the same way, the Commissioner General urged the media to respect the figures issued by the governing body on the matter. “An example of this reality has to do with the homicide rate figures, in which some people have dedicated themselves to including, in them, the death of people from other causes. As part of our investigations, we determined the cause of death through an autopsy; it's not all homicide.”

The director of the CICPC also highlighted the preventive work being carried out, together with different bodies of the Ministry for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, in schools, high schools and communities, which contributes favorably to the reduction of the crime rate in the country.

Finally, he reaffirmed that “since 2016, and as part of the Peace Quadrants doctrine, which brings together security bodies and other ministries, the Government's action for good living has been articulated.
