A total of 1,172 people were treated by the National Surgical Plan in the Guarenas-Guatire axis, with low and medium complexity surgeries.
According to information published on the web portal of the newspaper Última Noticias, surgeries treated include umbilical and inguinal hernias, lipomas, uterine prolapses, sterilizations, fibromatosis, hysterectomies and gallstones, among others.
The interventions were performed at the Guarenas-Guatire Eugenio P. D' Bellard General Hospital, a space that has two completely modern operating rooms equipped for this purpose.
María José Calzadilla, director of Health of the Plaza municipality, initially explained that patients with the need for low and medium complexity interventions were identified, who had previously had the diagnoses. He also added that the preoperative phase included carrying out all necessary exams, imaging studies such as X-rays, and pre-anesthetic and cardiovascular evaluations.
