A total of 1,150,000 doses of vaccines arrived this Sunday afternoon to be incorporated into the National Immunization Program promoted by the Bolivarian Government, through the Ministry of Health, thanks to cooperation with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

The information was released by the Sectorial Vice President of Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, who explained that this shipment includes doses of pentavalent and SRP (measles, rubella and mumps).

From Maiquetía International Airport, the Minister for Science and Technology explained that this shipment is part of an effort made by the Bolivarian Government to strengthen the inventory of vaccines for the next two years.

“It is a joint effort of the Bolivarian Government, of President Nicolás Maduro, who designated special financial resources to guarantee the supply of these vaccines, which means inventory, for the year 2026 and 2027 in the company of the Pan American Health Organization, of which we are founding members. Ninety-three years ago we have been part of this organization, which is fundamental to regional politics,” he said.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology, these vaccines will benefit communities in the country, especially maternity hospitals and pediatric hospitals across the country.

Minister Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez said that this endowment is part of a large inventory that is being added to the country with more than eight million vaccines that will arrive this month.

For his part, Armando de Negri, representative of PAHO in Venezuela, explained that this shipment includes 900,000 of the SRP vaccine (measles, rubella and mumps) “to be applied to child protection” and 250,000 doses of pentavalent that will protect children from five different pathologies.

“This coverage is very important, it corresponds to the vaccination scheme of protection from birth to the first years of children's lives and it will reach a population that we have to be taking care of permanently, which is precisely our childhood in the country,” he concluded.
