More than 1,000 boys and girls from the Cedeño municipality, Monagas state, were favored with the National Open Schools Plan 2024, carried out in five educational institutions in the jurisdiction during the vacation period. This was reported by Gustavo Valderrey, municipal director of the Center for Development for Educational Quality, who also stressed that the plan was developed with total success and made it possible to comprehensively serve communities that live inside and outside educational institutions.
“For this year's plan, we activated the Ana María Campos Educational Unit, located in Potrerito; the Liceo Consuelo Navas Tovar de San Félix and the Idelfonso Núñez Mares de Viento Fresco. Also in Caicara, the Luis Felipe Turmero Corvo and José Francisco Bermúdez schools were enabled,” he explained.
Valderrey also explained that the plan began at 8 in the morning with sports, recreational, ecological and training activities, allowing these spaces to be permanently accessible to the community during the vacation period.
“This plan allowed us to promote the sense of belonging and the integration of the community environment and families, with schools and high schools as the epicenter of social action and territorial development,” he said.
The Open Schools Plan guarantees healthy recreation for children and adolescents in every corner of the country, thus keeping them away from non-productive leisure. In the same way, in addition to being a space to provide leisure, its purpose is to provide informative talks to children and young people during the cessation of school activities.
In Venezuela, education is free, of quality and the National Executive promotes social protection policies, both during the vacation season and during the school season, to guarantee access to education for all, on a permanent basis,
