This Saturday, June
7, the vice-president of the organization of the United Socialist Party of
Venezuela (PSUV), Pedro Infante, highlighted that more than 80% of the communities
have already loaded the candidates nominated in the more than 47,000 assemblies
that took place across the country.
“Right now there
is a report that more than 80% of the communities have uploaded the postulates and postulates to the
CC200 system, we are talking about tens of thousands of candidates from mayors and councilors,” he said during a telephone contact with
Venezolana de Televisión, taking stock of the process of
nomination meetings that took place throughout the country.
In this
regard, he gave special recognition to the women and young people who
participated massively in this new consultation with the rank and file. “
A lot of women, a lot of youth, workers, popular community forces participated and
that consolidates the fact that it is the People who decide and guide who our leaders should
be to lead local municipal governments and municipal councils
,” she said.
“It has been a
great party and on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro and the general secretary
of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello, we want to express our congratulations to all
the community teams, it has been a wonderful, extraordinary day of pure
democracy,” he said, noting that these meetings were organized in record
time by community leaders who are on the front line of the vanguard.
He reaffirmed
that the People nominated the candidates of the People Who Resolve team.
At the same time, he specified that the assemblies were a totally unitary, inclusive and democratic
process.
“It was a
process that not only allowed the participation of those who are members of the PSUV,
but also of neighbors, social movements and the Great Patriotic Pole, and in
some places we are informed that there are people who, being members of the opposition, have
participated in the assemblies of the people they resolve, that is, the entire people
participating in an extraordinary, democratic and inclusive way,” he said.
He recalled that in the cases of Councilors,
people over 21 years of age could be nominated and in the case of Mayors over 25 years of age.
In addition, she noted that in this application process, extraordinary gender
parity and great generational balance stand out.
He reaffirmed that it was an extraordinary day, with few incidents that were all resolved at the time. “It has been a wonderful day, today we have nominated people who resolve and this step that we have taken today is fundamental to building the great victory that we will have on July 27,” he emphasized.
