The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, accompanied Adán Chávez, during his swearing in as governor of Barinas for the period 2025-2029, after triumphing in the elections of May 25 with 72.45% of the votes.

To come to Barina is to find yourself in this sacred place of the Fatherland, the path of all the struggles and all the stories, as the poet would say 'This is where my friend passed, 'Bolivar passed through here, Zamora and his armies passed through, and here was born the immortal giant Hugo Chávez Frías, the giant of the 21st century,” said the National President upon his arrival at Plaza Bolívar de Barinas.

He recalled that Barinas never surrendered to fascism. “I knew dear Adam that this day was going to come, because I have absolute faith in the People and I knew that the People of Barinas, sooner rather than later, would rescue for the Revolution this historic state, the cradle of the Supreme Commander,” he said.

The Venezuelan head of state called for a new phase to begin in Barinas, in which he will be the vanguard of the Revolution. “Barinas must be the vanguard, from El Llano, of the new transition to socialism. He's not a man, he has to be a people,” he said, inviting the seven deputies to the National Assembly, who vote in the entity, to be the voice of the humble.
