Radio Day in Venezuela: Commitment and Social Responsibility

On May 20, 1926, the first
radio broadcast took place in the country, and since then,
Radio Day has been celebrated in Venezuela.
This historic event was carried out through the Ayre radio station , which
transmitted in modulated amplitude (AM), for the city of Caracas during
the regime of Juan Vicente Gómez.
The first programming began with comedy, news from El
Nuevo Diario and piano music. Later,
radio soap operas and sports were incorporated.
While the evening program was based on the music of the band
directed by Carlos Bonet and a Creole orchestra
under the direction of Maestro Pedro Elías Gutiérrez.
It was on June 6, 1934, after the creation of La Voz
de Carabobo , that radio stations began to be founded in the main
cities of Venezuela.
With the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, Commander
Hugo Chávez gave himself the opportunity for people to express themselves
with the creation of more than 300 community radio stations.
