The 2024-2025 school year will end on July 18

The Minister of Education, Héctor Rodríguez, announced this Friday that classes for the 2024-2025 school year will end on July 18, as stipulated in the educational schedule for schools and high schools.

“This school year ends on July 18, not before. It's not that in July it will be the administrative thing, classes will be held until July 18 and the administrative phase continues the rest of July and the last week we do the graduation events,” Rodríguez said during a visit to the Juan Landaeta Educational Complex, in Caracas.

To this end, the educational schedule establishes 200 days of classes to implement the 20 objectives of each program, “since each objective requires approximately two weeks of activities,” says a press release replicated by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN).

“We can't shorten the school calendar. We can't start classes in October and finish in May (...) that can't be,” Rodríguez reiterated, assuring that classes for the new 2025-2026 school year begin on September 8.

With regard to school enrollment, he noted that it has increased thanks to the coordination of efforts of the National Government and the Military Community Brigades for Education and Health (Bricomiles), to recover the infrastructure of educational centers in the country.

In another area, the head of the Education portfolio highlighted that a new National Popular Consultation will soon be held where the country's communal circuits will have the opportunity to propose educational projects.
