The Bolivarian Government of the Delta Amacuro state, through the mayor's office of the Antonio Díaz municipality, inaugurated the Casa de Paso Felipe Arenas, to provide shelter and care to indigenous Warao patients who arrive from the Delta pipes and have nowhere to stay, while they recover, manage treatments, or other medical procedures.

According to information issued by the mayor's office, this house will benefit hundreds of Waraos who come to Tucupita in search of medical care and have no place to stay.

The inauguration was attended by the local mayor, Javier Arenas, who explained that the house located on Pativilca Street in Tucupita will allow patients with greater challenges to receive housing, food and medicine while they recover, and then return to their communities of origin.
