This Thursday, the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, accompanied the ambassador of the Russian Federation accredited to Caracas, Sergei Mélik-Bagdasárov, in a wreath before the sarcophagus of the Liberator Simon Bolivar, in the National Pantheon, as part of the commemoration of the 36th anniversary of the declaration of the sovereignty of the Eurasian country.
The protocol ceremony symbolized respect and friendship between the two nations. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Andrea Corao; and representatives of the diplomatic corps established in the country.
The foreign minister indicated, on his Telegram channel, that the Russian National Day is celebrated every June 12 in honor of the Russian people. On this festive occasion, “Venezuela reaffirms its firm commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between our nations,” he said.
El Russia Day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty in 1990, a historic event that laid the foundations of a State based on constitutional supremacy, division of powers and equal rights for all its citizens.
The El beginning of diplomatic relations between Caracas and Moscow dates back to March 14, 1945. Over the decades, these ties have evolved in a sustained manner until they are consolidated as a solid comprehensive strategic partnership, based on mutual respect, the defense of international law and the shared vision of a multicentric and multipolar world.
