On November 15, 1988, in Algiers, 37 years ago, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) reaffirmed the proclamation of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine with the pre-1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital, backed by extensive international support.

On his account on the social network Telegram, the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, stated that the aforementioned statement “recognized the struggle of the Palestinian people for their self-determination and their right to live without the Zionist occupation.”

In this regard, he stressed that “Venezuela, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, reaffirms its unwavering support for the State and the people of Palestine, who today remain firm in the defense of their independence and dignity after more than 75 years of occupation, apartheid and crimes that constitute serious violations of international law.”
