Venezuela said it was present at the Week of Latin America and the Caribbean at UNESCO

Venezuela was present at the inauguration of the inauguration of the Latin American and Caribbean Week (SALC) in Room I of the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in Paris.
According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, through textile art, our
country exhibited the country's main achievements in the
fields of education, science and culture, with the runway
“Venezuela Teje Futuro: Knowledge, Dignity and Hope”.
Venezuela offered a lively and colorful vision of the work of
the country's popular weavers and artisans, mainly from the states of
Mérida, Lara, Yaracuy and Monagas, who transmit their knowledge from
generation to generation, preserving a rich and resilient cultural identity.
Each of the pieces, woven by hand, was intervened by
the Counselor and designer of the Delegation, Nelly Carrillo, who embroidered
messages that make visible the concrete achievements of Venezuela within the multilateral system.
The first ruana presented, originally from Mucuchies,
Mérida state, is recognized as part of the local cultural heritage. It was provided for
this exhibition by the master weaver María Vicenta Dávila, a member of the Scientific-Peasant
Alliance and symbolizes the ancient wisdom and heritage of the weaving grandmothers of the Venezuelan Andes.
The parade was attended by young people from Algeria,
Cuba, France, Honduras, Monaco and Venezuela, in a gesture of cultural diplomacy
that projects the vision of Peace, Cooperation and Brotherhood between peoples, fundamental
principles of Bolivarian diplomacy.
With this emotional presentation, Venezuela reaffirmed its
commitment to promoting biocultural diversity and strengthening
education, science and culture as tools of sovereignty,
dignity and hope for the future.
