Venezuela strengthens Pharmaceutical Engine to protect the people's health

The sector vice-president of Science, Technology and Health, Gabriela Jiménez, held a meeting this Thursday with representatives of the Behrens Laboratory, with the objective of evaluating strategies aimed at strengthening the Pharmaceutical Engine in Venezuela.
“Following the guidelines of President Nicolás Maduro Moros, we are making progress in building a work agenda to strengthen the pharmaceutical industry and continue consolidating our sovereignty,” said the Minister of People's Power for Science and Technology, after taking a tour of the laboratory and reviewing her project portfolio.
He indicated that during the meeting they addressed “the ways of working of this company, to promote the production of drugs and improve their quality, as well as to promote research and the development of new products that provide solutions to the people and promote the economic apparatus of the Fatherland.”
Jiménez said that Behrens Laboratory has more than 120 years in the Venezuelan pharmaceutical sector and has a capacity of more than 200 workers, “all qualified professionals committed to health” in the country.
“Its product portfolio is divided into seven therapeutic lines focused on producing injectable, parenteral, and hydration serums,” he said.
The minister announced that this company reaffirmed “its commitment to collaborate with the Ministry of People's Power for Health and Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers, for the benefit of the population.”
Finally, he stressed that Venezuela is “heading towards the modernization and strengthening of the pharmaceutical industry, generating the economic, scientific and technological transformation that our Homeland requires, but mainly to protect the health of our people.”
