Vice President Rodríguez: International tourism has grown by 25% and cross-border tourism 48%

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted that international tourism in 2024 grew 25% and cross-border tourism by 48%, offering a balance on Venezuela's tourism engine.
“Motor tourism has been growing every year. After we overcame COVID-19, tourism began to rebound and from last year to this year we had growth in international tourism of 25%, in cross-border tourism of 48%,” he stressed.
He explained how this sector has grown every year, after overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic and since activities in this area began to rebound.
In his speech at the Bolivar Park Convention Center, located in La Carlota, where the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, led the 2nd. Venezuela-Colombia Binational Tourism Exchange.
On the other hand, Rodríguez specified that more than 105 Venezuelan and Colombian businessmen from all areas of binational tourism participate in this meeting.
He urged that this meeting between businessmen from Venezuela and Colombia must translate into economic growth for the strengthening of both nations, “above all they translate into social happiness.”
“Colombia and Venezuela are united in economic cooperation. Confirming that this is the path: brotherhood,” he said.
For her part, the Minister of Popular Power of Tourism, Leticia Gómez, stated that this meeting represents cross-border work between Colombia and Venezuela. “We have reached the regions to lift community tourist routes,” he said.
In this regard, he explained that 112 Community Councils are actively participating in this new form of tourism.
