Yasmin Colina was appointed mayor in charge of Colón (+Sarcos)

Yasmin Colina, a member of A New Time (UNT), was appointed mayor in charge of Colón, Zulia state, after the arrest of Nervins Sarcos, who is being held for alleged acts of corruption.

The City Council of Colón in Extraordinary Session No. 1 of 2025 and with the presence of the 9 councilors, made the decision, according to information published by the digital media RDN.

It should be noted that Eleany Canquiz, president of the Municipal Council, reported on the capture of Sarcos and it was officially notified, through a letter from the Attorney General's Office, that Sarcos was unable to perform his functions due to his arrest by State security agencies.
